According to Yonhap News,

The Gwangju Food Food Fair 2023, which seeks to commercialize food, kicked off at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Gwangju on October 12.

The 18th Fair will be held until October 15 along with the Gwangju International Tea Fair 2023.

Gwangju and Daegu Dalbit Alliance Hall, Korea Food Master Hall, Gwangju High-End Kimchi Hall, Traditional Liquor Special Hall, and Jeju Special Hall will welcome visitors.

The Fair will introduce local agricultural products, processed foods, organic foods, and food machinery, and help companies develop new markets through export and purchase consultations.

450 booths will be set up by 300 companies, while the number of overseas buyers participating rose to 60 from 12 last year, bolstering its reputation as the largest food fair in the Honam region.

Gwangju's mayor emphasized the importance of fostering "food tech", combining food and technology, and said, "We are living in an era where kimchi, gimbap, and ramen can be found even when we go abroad" adding, "Gwangju, which is called the home of flavor, should take a leading role in ushering the K-Food era."
