AICON Gwangju 2023 to kick off, bringing together global AI scholars

"3rd AICON Gwangju 2023", a global AI conference will be held at Oryong Hall, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) on November 1-3.

Gwangju Metropolitan Government said on October 26 that the conference will serve as a venue in which domestic and foreign experts share technology trends and future prospects under the theme of "Generative AI, Business Innovation, and the Future."

It is hosted by Gwangju City, the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT), and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) and organized by the Artificial Intelligence Industry Cluster Agency (AICA).

On the first day, Daniel Lee, a professor at Cornell University in the U.S., who is an authority on AI, and Shanker V Selvadurai, VP of Asia Pacific Region of IBM, will give keynote lectures and while the "AI 4 GOOD" forum will also be held.

On the following day, special lectures will be delivered by Josh Chappell, Head of Google MESA platform, and Matthew Wilson, VP of Zeiss Korea.

Also, there will be sub-sessions where current issues and examples regarding Generative AI, Super-Giant AI, AI semiconductors, and trends of AI startups will be discussed.

On the last day, there will be a special lecture by Robin Colgan, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover Korea, and lectures on the future of AI such as AI+XIST (AI+XIST) by KAIST, UNIST, DGIST, and GIST.

There will also be presentations on various technologies, unmanned stores of autonomous driving robots, and opportunities to experience and explore displayed products such as AI-based monitoring systems to predict flooding of underground roads.
