According to Yonhap News,
The 'Bitgoeul Startup Station' (STA·G), a key hub to lead Gwangju's startup ecosystem, opened its doors on June 19th and began operations.
Gwangju-si officially opened the Bitgoeul Startup Station, which was built on the site of the Gwangju Station luggage parking lot in the Jungheung-dong, Buk-gu.
STA·G stands for 'STARTUP STATION GWANGJU,' symbolizing a 'stage where startup companies can pursue their big dreams.' The STA·G is a startup support facility built with a total project cost of KRW 35 billion, covering a site area of 5,503㎡, with five floors above ground and a total floor area of 8,950㎡.
It serves as an integrated startup platform where startup companies, investment institutions, and startup support organizations come together. It provides early-stage startups with business-friendly office spaces and various programs customized to the growth cycle of their businesses.
In particular, it is expected to help in market entry by facilitating network building, as investment institutions also reside in the same building.
The STA·G includes 41 office spaces for startups and 5 exclusive spaces for investment institutions, as well as shared spaces designed to be startup-friendly, such as co-working spaces, meeting rooms, an open lounge, and a rooftop garden, enabling active collaboration and networking among tenants.
Currently, a total of 30 promising companies and organizations have moved in, and about 30 investment institutions are also based there, creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem that involves both private and public sectors.
