According to Yonhap News,

On June 24, Gwangju-si hosted the "Gwangju-Samsung Startup Day" at the Bitgoeul Startup Station (STA·G) in Jungheung-dong, Buk-gu, in collaboration with Samsung Electronics' C-Lab and the Gwangju Center for Creative Economy & Innovation.

The "Startup Day" was organized to explore collaboration models based on open innovation between large corporations and local startups, and to promote the practical growth of the startup ecosystem.

Around 50 local startups participated in the event, presenting technological innovations and sharing collaboration cases, among other activities.

CEO of DeepMedi, who is developing a blood pressure measurement algorithm using Samsung Electronics' sensor OLED technology and currently undergoing clinical verification, shared his collaboration case with Samsung Electronics, drawing much attention.

Additionally, local startups such as Cleair and The Dimension Company presented their key technologies.

Yang Kyung-jun, CEO of Krypton, the longest-running accelerator in Korea, gave a special lecture on the topic "Ways to Activate the Local Strategic Industry Startup Ecosystem."

Samsung Electronics, which is publicly recruiting startups for its C-Lab 8th cohort until July 4th, will provide various supports such as up to KRW 100 million in commercialization funding, collaboration on technology verification (PoC), exclusive space, and customized growth programs for selected startups from the Gwangju region.

An official from Gwangju-si said, "We will continue to strengthen the sustainable growth foundation of the local startup ecosystem through collaboration with large corporations."
