On June 25, Gwangju-si held a tripartite investment agreement (MOU) with "Igis," a domestic manufacturer of insulation and special glass processing equipment, and "LiSEC," an Austrian glass processing equipment specialist, at the Gwangju City Hall.
The companies plan to establish a glass processing equipment manufacturing facility based on a smart factory in the Gwangju Cheomdan Industrial Complex.
The total investment is approximately KRW 4 billion.
The manufacturing facility is expected to break ground as early as next month and begin full operations in November.
Under the MOU, Gwangju-si pledged to provide administrative services for investment implementation, provide various incentives such as tax reductions and subsidies, among others.
Gawngju's Mayor said, "This joint investment has laid the foundation for Gwangju to grow as a center for smart manufacturing. By continuing activities to attract investment, we will enhance our status as a future industrial city."
