According to Yonhap News,

On July 3, Gwangju-si signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the Investment Promotion District with two companies: 'Oasys Studio,' a visual effects (VFX) specialist, and 'Luyworks Media,' a global entertainment production company.

Under the agreement, the two companies will establish their headquarters or subsidiaries within the Gwangju Content Hub and hire a total of 90 local talents.

In particular, they are expected to create jobs for young people through priority employment of local youth.

Gwangju-si has attracted content companies by taking advantage of the Investment Promotion District system, attracting five companies this year alone, and a total of 17 content companies during the current mayor's term.

Oasys Studio, a VFX production company known for producing content such as Disney+ 'Connect,' Netflix's 'LA CASA DE PAPEL Part 2,' and JTBC's 'Bad Mommy,' plans to set up a subsidiary in Gwangju and hire 60 people.

Luyworks Media, the producer of popular entertainment programs such as 'Physical: 100' and 'Street Woman Fighter,' will relocate its headquarters to Gwangju and hire 30 people.

Gwangju-si plans to further strengthen the virtuous cycle of attracting businesses and creating jobs by linking the GCC Academy, a content talent development institution, with the incentives of the Investment Promotion District.

Mayor of Gwangju said, "Gwangju is a city equipped with content infrastructure, professional talent, and policy support," adding, "We hope that these newly attracted companies will become leaders in Gwangju's content industry."
