On October 12, Gwangju-si announced that it will host the global AI conference, 'Global AI Conference (AICON) Gwangju 2025,' in collaboration with the AI Industry Cluster Agency on October 15-16 at the Gwangju Kim Dae-jung Convention Center.
The opening ceremony will begin with a video showcasing Gwangju's AI future vision, followed by a welcome speech by Mayor Kang Ki-jeong.
Gwangju-si and 10 AI companies will sign the 'Gwangju-type AI Business MOU' on October 15.

Professor Kim Jin-hyung, an honorary professor at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), will deliver a keynote on 'Domestic AI Industry Development Policies and Current Status,' while Professor Yoo Young-jin from the London School of Economics (LSE) will give a keynote on 'AI as an Ecosystem.'
A special roundtable discussion will focus on exploring ways to realize the 'AI for All' project promoted by Gwangju-si, as well as discussing strategies for the successful establishment of the National AI Computing Center and AX Demonstration Valley.
In conjunction with the conference, the 'AI Tech+ 2025' exhibition, showcasing AI innovation technologies, will be held on October 15-17.
