According to Yonhap News,
The 23rd International Light Convergence Expo will be held on October 30-31 at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju.
The event is jointly hosted by Gwangju-si and the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Resources, and organized by the Korea Association for Photonics Industry Development.
This year’s exhibition will feature more than 70 domestic and international companies and organizations, offering an overview of the current and future prospects of photonic convergence technologies that will lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The exhibition will include an export consultation session with overseas buyers, a photonic convergence technology conference, and a photonic convergence industry forum.
At the on-site export consultation session, with over 80 overseas buyers from 8 countries, numerous export contracts are expected to be signed.
The 'Tech Day,' hosted by the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), will focus on sharing the direction of technological development and industry trends in the photonics convergence sector. Meanwhile, the photonic convergence industry forum will bring together industry, research, and academic experts to discuss ways to activate the industry ecosystem and promote international cooperation.
Taking this expo as an opportunity, Gwangju-si plans to strengthen the technological capabilities and global networks of local photonic convergence companies.
An official from Gwangju-si stated "This will be a meaningful opportunity for domestic and international industries and research institutions to exchange ideas and present the future vision of the photonics convergence industry."
