(Seoul = Newsis) Reporter Kwon Hyuk-jin = The Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Startups (MSS) announced that it will hold its fifth regional venture policy and venture investment information session at the Gwangju Creative Economy Innovation Center at 2:00 PM on the 4th to introduce its operation strategies.
The regional tour sessions are co-hosted by MSS and seven related organizations, including Korea Venture Investment Corp. (KVIC), the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME), the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KIBO), the Creative Economy Innovation Center, the Venture Business Association (KOVA), the Korean Venture Capital Association (KVCA), and the Korea Angel Investment Association. This fifth session is held in the Southwest region (Gwangju), following those in Jeonbuk (February 5), the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region (February 10), the Central region (February 26), and the Southeast region (February 27).
MSS plans to hold a total of seven sessions, including those in Jeju (March 10) and Gangwon (March 12).
The event will feature a briefing on venture support projects and an introduction to the operation strategies of KVIC's Korea Korea Fund of Funds and venture capital funds. There will also be 1:1 project consulting by related organizations and 1:1 investment consulting involving ten leading venture capital firms from the Seoul metropolitan area and other regions.
MSS will broadcast the event live on YouTube to improve policy accessibility.
Kim Bong-deok, Director General for Venture Policy at MSS, stated, "The government has a very strong will to make balanced regional development a growth engine for the nation." He added, "MSS will also concentrate its available policy resources on the regions so that local ventures and startups can serve as growth engines for their areas."
