(Jeonnam-Gwangju=Yonhap News) Reporter Hyung Min-woo = The Integrated Special City of Jeonnam-Gwangju announced on the 8th that it dispatched the "2026 Central Asia Trade Mission" to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, securing export memorandums of understanding (MOUs) worth a combined USD 1.11 million (approx. In Tashkent, Uzbekistan, export MOUs totaling USD 650,000 were signed, including USD 500,000 by Bonggang Eco-Friendly and USD 150,000 by Pureunjeong Food. In addition, Mesacosa, Seokwang Food, SH Lab, and Wiro Food executed on-site sales contracts worth USD 1,000 each, totaling USD 4,000.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Uzbekistan agreed to assist entering enterprises by providing local market intelligence through its "K-Initiative" single-window system—in partnership with the Korean Business Council and the Korean Association—and offering consultation services to resolve operational bottlenecks.

At the trade consultation event in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, export MOUs worth a total of USD 460,000 were signed, including USD 100,000 each by Seokwang Food, SH Lab, Wiro Food, and Pureunjeong Food, USD 50,000 by Bonggang Eco-Friendly, and USD 10,000 by Seongji F&D.

The integrated city government plans to host online follow-up meeting sessions between November and December to maintain continuous business matchmaking between local buyers and participating companies.

An official from Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City stated, "This trade mission is significant in that it directly connected the consumer demand and Hallyu enthusiasm in Central Asia and Mongolia to export opportunities for local enterprises. We will dedicate our follow-up support to ensure these agreements lead to executed contracts and sustained exports."
