According to Yonhap News,

Gwangju City said on January 3rd that it successfully attracted ‘Honam Region (southwestern region) Software Quality Control Center,’ a national project organized by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy.

Gwangju plans to invest the state fund of KRW 400 million and the provincial fund of KRW 600 million to build ‘Software Quality Control Center’ in Gwangju Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency (Yang-dong, Seo-gu) within the first half of this year.

The City said “IT companies in the southwestern region of Korea have faced difficulties, since support organizations in software quality control are concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area,” and added “Honam Region Software Quality Control Center’ will help boost the competitiveness of regional IT companies.”
