According to Yonhap News,

Gwangju City is ranked the second in the nationwide evaluation for the innovative city business center.

According to the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs, Gwangju is ranked the second following Daegu City for its achievements in moving public institutions to the business center, establishing the industry-academic-research institute cluster and promoting balanced development with regions adjacent to Gwangju. In the evaluation, the southern Jeolla Province is ranked the fifth.

Reportedly, Gwangju City is credited with its aggressive efforts to invite high-ranking public officials who have to transfer to the business center and their families to the southern Jeolla Province to help their settlements, organize workshops for related institutions, promotion seminars and discussions.

Choi Sang-yun, a section chief of construction administration, said, "We will try to help 15 institutions successfully complete their transfer to Gwangju-southern Jeolla Joint Innovative City by 2014 and create a perfect residential environment where officials and their families can live without any difficulties."
