According to Yonhap News,

The construction for transforming Songam Industrial Complex in Gwangju into Digital Complex begins.

Gwangju City said on Feb. 6 that it will start the establishment of Songam Digital Contents Industrial Cluster that divides Songnam Industrial Complex into three districts from 2015 to 2018.

The city will invest 170 billion KRW in establishing the basis for realistic media, planning and creation support and in building Creativity Contents Plaza in the district No.1 around the CGI center.

Transportation Department of Nam-gu local government office plans to build a shopping mall at the district No. 2 where products manufactured in the district No.1 are on display.

Digital contents-related companies and schools will be built in the district No.3.

The city is aggressively preparing for the projects by holding seminars, visiting the construction site and surveying companies that will occupy the complex.

An official at Gwangju City said, "Cultural contents industry is a regional customized industry that can be driven by companies that don't have huge capital and cutting-edge technology but with creative ideas and passion."
