NRRA and KCA Held Joint-Groundbreaking for Their New Complexes

According to Yonhap News,

Lee Dong-hyeong, director of National Radio Research Agency (NRRA) and Yang Yu-seok, director of Korea Communications Agency (KCA), organized a joint groundbreaking for their new complexes to be built within Gwangju-Jeonnam Innovative City.

The ceremony drew about 800 people including Korea Broadcasting Telecommunications Committee President Lee Gye-cheol, Lawmaker Choi In-gi, Governor Park Jun-yeong, Gwangju Mayor Gang Un-tae, Naju Mayor Im Seong-hun and local residents.

"We will do our best to develop Gwangju-Jeonjnam Innovative City into a major player to drive the development of Korea's broadcasting and communications industry," said Lee Gye-cheol.

The new complexes will be energy-efficient buildings introducing heating and cooling system powered by photovoltaic and geothermal energy.

The NRRA will be certified as the best environmentally-friendly architecture and acquired the first-grade energy efficiency certificate. It plans to save an average of 579kW of electricity annually, equivalent of about 300 million won, through its heating and cooling system powered by geothermal energy.

The KCA will also be granted the first-grade energy efficient and environmentally-friendly architecture certificate by utilizing renewable energy sources including geothermal and photovoltaic energy.
