The Solar, Wind & Earth Energy Trade Fair (Sweet 2012) will be held at Kim Dae-jung Convention Center for three days from April 24.

About 530 booths will be operated by 190 companies from 10 countries including the U.S., Australia, Japan and Germany.

Leading companies in the renewable energy sector, including Hyundai Motors, Kumho Electric, SPP Yulchon Energy, Trade Queensland, Austrade, Nippo and Photon International, will participate in the fair.

The fair is expected to be the largest fair of its kind with 180 buyers from 27 countries attending.

More than 10 supplementary events, including an investment seminar and international seminars on the photovoltaic and wind power generation industries and development strategy of hinterland ports, are also scheduled to be held.

Hyundai and Kia Motors will display hydrogen-fuelled vehicles and offer visitors an opportunity to drive them. Visitors can also visit renewable energy production sites.

"The SWEET 2012 will be a great opportunity to add vigor to Gwangju's renewable energy industry," said a Gwangju official.
