According to Yonhap News,
Gwangju City is selected as the host city of the 11th Congress for the International Advisory Committee (IAC).
The Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea (CHAK) said Gwangju has finally chosen as the host city among four cities through deliberation conducted by the CHAK and the screening committee consisting of independent advisory panels.
The selection will be officially reported to the executive office of the UNESCO late this month.
The 11th congress, to be held from May 23 to 25, 2013, will attract 40 participants.
Whether Nanjung Diary, General Lee Sun-shin's life story, and records of Samaeul Movement will be included in the UNESCO Memory of the World will be determined during the congress.
