According to Yonhap News,

Gwangju held the International Climate & Environmental Fair 2012 in mid-September at Gwangju Kimdaejung Convention Center.

The fair, co-hosted by Gwangju and south Jeolla Province (Jeonnam) and co-organized by Gwangju Kimdaejung Convention Center and Gwangju Regional Metrological Administration, drew 143 companies from 5 countries.

Companies including Samsung Electronics, POSCO, Hyundai Construction, HU-CHEMS and Volkswagen and government agencies including Presidential Committee on Green Growth, Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute, Korea Testing Laboratory, Gwangju Regional Metrological Administration and Southwestern Research Institute of Green Energy Technology will demonstrate eco-friendly technology and products.

An export seminar was also held on the sideline of the fair with 29 buyers attending. Some of the regional companies that participated in the fair inked memorandum of understandings with foreign companies.

"The International Climate & Environmental Fair will provide a venue where companies share up-to-date information on climate change and environment," said a Gwangju official.
