According to Yonhap News,

Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry inked cooperation agreements with Korean business associations of Canada and Americas that participated in the 11th World Korean Business Convention, held in Seoul from last Tuesday to Thursday, in order to prepare for the 12th World Korean Business Convention, scheduled to be held in Gwangju in next October.

They agreed to work closely for promoting trade and economy and support Korean companies seeking to advance into Canada or Americas.

Founded in 1994, the Korean business association of Canada is a nonprofit organization, registered by the Canadian government, with 6,500 members. The Korean business association of Americas, established in 1981, is the largest Korean business organization in Americas with 45 branches and 200,000 members.

"Regions that had hosted the World Korean Business Convention enjoyed great economic benefits after the event," said Park Heung-seok, President of Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry. "The cooperation agreements are expected to enable us to utilize Korean business networks all around the world."
