Gwangju SMEs Knocks on Middle East

Gwangju city announced that a trade mission, consisting of 12 small- and medium-sized companies in the mining and medical equipment industry, held consultations which amounted to USD 2.3 million in three Middle East countries.

The trade mission, supported by Gwangju and the Gwangju branch of the Small & Medium Business Corporation (SBC), visited Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Israel from June 3 to June 12. It held 44 on-site consultations which amounted to USD 2.3 million.

LM Medical which produces multi injector nozzles and feeding bottles held consultation session with buyers from Saudi Arabia and Israel. Nanootech Corporation, an automated external defibrillator maker, also consulted with a Saudi Arabian buyer which has the exclusive rights in the Gulf Cooperation Council.

In Israel, about 30 buyers requested samples to four mining companies, special automobile makers and engineering plastic manufactures including Shinhan Networks, Fine Motors & Engineering and O-Yang Product Co., LTD.

A Gwangju official noted that a product strategy that meets characteristics of overseas markets and consistent efforts will lead to success, adding that the city will support the small- and medium-sized companies by cooperating with the SBC and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency.
