The Gwangju Convention & Visitors Bureau (GCVB) announced yesterday that it was awarded for the best design at the Korea Mice Expo 2013 (KME 2013).

About 200 organizations and companies, around 400 Korean and foreign buyers and about 4,000 MICE industry insiders attended the KME 2013. GCVB collaborated with the Kimdaejung Convention Center, Holiday Inn Gwangju, Ramada Plaza Gwangju, Shin Yang Park Hotel and the Namhae Tour to promote the city.

GCVB received the gold award for the best booth design, following its meeting award in 2011 and green booth award in 2012.

This year’s booth promoted Gwangju as a creative city with media art, celebrating opening of the Asian Culture Complex in 2014. Arts by four media artists who represent Gwangju, including Lee Lee-nam, Song Bong-chae, Park Sang-hwa and Jung Un-hak were displayed at the expo.

A GCVB official noted that Gwangju has become a new destination for MICE events, adding that the expo will serve as an opportunity to grow into a capital of culture in East Asia.
