(GWANGJU = Yonhap News) The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KJCCI) and The Sendai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) are to step up mutual cooperation.
Led by the Chair of the SCCI Katama HiroshI, a group of twenty one visited Gwangju on 11th, The KJCCI announced.
The group was invited by the Chair of KJCCI Park Heungseok last June in Sendai where MOU between two parties was signed. They are expected to stay in Gwangju until 13th.
The group held a meeting with KJCCI regarding vitalization of private economic cooperation, followed by the talk with the mayor of Gwangju Kang Woontae. They then joined a luncheon hosted by Lee Hyungseok, the deputy mayor for economic affairs, Gwangju, and spent afternoon visiting the construction site of National Asian Culture Complex, Gwangju plant of KIA Motors, Korea Photonics Technology Institute, Korea Association for Photonics Industry Development, and Alps Electric Korea,. Ltd.
“Two chambers came to an agreement to strengthen economic, technology, and human resources exchange by signing MOU, and to build the foundation for both regions’ economic development.” The Chair of KJCCI Park Heungseok said. “I believe the visit must be the first fruit of our efforts.”
