(GWANGJU=NEWSIS) The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce & Industry held the Gwangju-Jeonnam FTA Business Forum on October 6 at the Kim Daejung Convention Center to inform regional companies and local governments the meaning and impact of the FTA and seek measures to respond to the agreement.

In regards to the FTA between Korea and China, the agreement handles relatively sophisticated and comprehensive elements including intellectual property rights, environment and e-commerce. In order to effectively respond to the agreement, Korea should be well aware of it.

The industries that need pay attention to the Korea-China FTA are: online market industry for daily supplies, dairy products, detergents and cosmetics; high value-added knowledge services including medical service, cultural contents, SW/IT service and design; smart SOC industry including intelligent transportation system, smart grid, home networking and telecommunications; clean water industry including waste water and air pollution treatment and recycling; and angel industry including infant clothes, vehicle products, learning equipment and washing machines.
