According to Yonhap News,

(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) Gwangju City announced April 26 that the city will analyze road accidents and youth suicide and prepare prevention measures by capitalizing on big data.

Big data is a broad term for data sets so large or complex that traditional data processing applications are inadequate.

The city will analyze big data including the road accidents and youth suicide that have occurred over the last three years, data related to 119 rescue services, complaints received by 120 call center and SNS data by age, region, time and gender.

The city will cooperate with related organizations including the National Police Agency, the Office of Education, the Road Traffic Authority and the Korea Suicide Prevention Center to expand transportation safety facilities and prepare measures to solve suicide issues.
