GWANGJU < invest Korea

(GWANGJU=NEWSIS) Gwangju City and the Korea Electric Power Corporation established a roadmap to build an energy valley in Gwangju.

The goals of the city is to attract 250 startups, create 5,000 new jobs, record KRW 2 trillion of sales and secure 20 world’s leading technologies by 2020. The city plans to focus on the three sectors including distributed energy management, energy storage system and energy convergence parts and materials to achieve the goals.

The detailed strategies include establishing the industrial ecosystem, enhancing the technology capability and building the infrastructure and an energy valley support center.

The city will invest KRW 1 trillion to achieve the goals and will expand technology development projects and corporate support projects.
