According to Yonhap News,

The city of Ulsan launched a groundbreaking ceremony on Dec.4 to accomodate a large scale Hightech Town, highly expected to facilitate the convergence between ICT and marine engineering domains, which ultimately results in higher value added business, inside the Techno-Cluster lying on the southern part of Ulsan.

The town construction has been pushed for as part of national projects, entitled 'ICT Convergence Industry 4.0s', mainly driven by Ministry of Science & ICT. Many are now anticipating that the new building will act as a research lab to further advance industry-specific technology, while being a testing ground when products are ready to be commercially applicable.

The seven-story with a sub-basement building, established onto a 4,192 square meter site, is well equipped with facilities to help business activities such as ICT convergence center, an inspection room to test the quality of software programs, a test lab that has 69 different units of equipment, an HR training center and venture startup centers. The total cost of the construction is reportedly estimated to be KRW 35.4 billion.

Roughly 200 senior level officials, representatives of business & academia, along with the city mayor attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Hightech Town. There was a special three-day showcase, displaying products and services to publicize 21 local businesses at the lobby on the second floor of the building.
