According to Yonhap News,

The Ulsan Metropolitan City held a meeting with Cho Ju-hyeon, Vice Minister of SMEs and Startups to check the performance of the 'Hydrogen Green Mobility (eco-friendly transportation methods) Special Regulation Free Zone Project,' on Aug 17.

The meeting was held on the day at the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Demonstration Center located at the Jangseungpo Harbor, Nam-gu. Among the attendees were Vice Minister Cho, Ahn Hyo-dae, Deputy Mayor of Ulsan City, Kwon Su-yong, President of Ulsan Technopark, and representatives from five major Special Zones.

They discussed a specific direction of assistance that can be reflected on the Special Zone project, along with difficulties in implementing the project.

Then, the meeting was followed by a tour of the information hall at the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Demonstration Center, and a test driving of hydrogen ships.

Vice Minister Cho said, "In order to swiftly improve laws related to hydrogen, we will make it available for companies in the Special Zone, as well as relevant ministries, and private experts to periodically communicate with one another," adding "We will also actively consult with the Ministry of Ocean and Fisheries, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to improve the laws after carrying out demonstration."

The city expects that when the project of the Special Regulation Free Zone is completed, hydrogen fuel cell ships and forklifts will be commercialized, leading to the attraction of hydrogen-related companies and creation of jobs.

A total project cost of KRW 25.2 billion will be injected into the project.
