Ulsan-si has completed the first round of a project on the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) - a system that automates simple and repetitive tasks of civil servants - in August as it announced on Sep. 5.

The RPA refers to the system that automatically does job by using the AI software robot technology. This will reduce working hours and the likelihood of mistakes or errors at work. Furthermore, the system is expected to enhance performance as 24-hour operations become available.

It also helps streamline business transfer processes, thereby improving continuation of the work.

Last June, such an automation system was applied to designated tasks of 'fast execution' and 'consumption and investment.' And thus, the working hours went down from 1-2 hours to 5 minutes.

The city included automation of the work in the Task Force's strategic agenda to actualize one of policy agenda, 'Digital Platform Government.'

In line with that, the second round of the project - to be conducted in the second half of the year - would also contribute to digital innovation.
