Ulsan-si to Hold 'Taewhagang National Garden International Academic Debate'

Ulsan-si pronounced on Oct. 11 that the 'Taewhagang National Garden International Academic Debate' would be held at the UECO on Oct. 21.

The debate is co-hosted by three organizations, including the Korea Forest Service and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Korea.

Also, it was pushed forward with the growing attention towards the Pete Audolf Naturalist garden established in the National Garden. A keynote speech and debates for the event would be aired on the Youtube channel Jeongwon TV as well.

In specific, Chung Young-sun, the head of Seo-Ahn Total Landscape, will open the event with a keynote speech  themed 'Introduction to Korean Gardens and Value of Public Gardens'

And it will be followed by topic presentations; ▲Value of Garden-based Infrastructure and Public Gardens (by Pro. Gwon Jin-uck and Dr. Lee Yu-mi), ▲ Climate Change and the Role of Public Gardens (Prof. Cassian Schmidt and Nam Su-hwan, the manager at the Korea Arboreta and Garden Institution), ▲Philosophy embedded in Taewhagang National Garden' (Piet Oudolfg, a Dutch garden designer).

In addition, President Ko Jung-hee at the foundation plans to deliver a congratulatory speech online regarding the opening of the debate for garden lovers. On a first-come, first-served basis. a maximum of 300 people who are interested in gardens can apply to the Academic Debate
