According to Newsis,

Buk-gu, Ulsan-si announced on Dec. 6 that it proposed facilities suitable for vacant house recycling through big data spatial analysis to help maintain empty houses.

The spatial analysis was conducted on 192 vacant houses in Buk-gu.

First, for 27 dongs in Buk-gu, the areas needing improvement were derived by using a diagnostic index reflecting the rate of change in population, rate of change in business, and rate of old buildings. In addition, vacant houses suitable for recycling were presented from ranking 1 to 9 through AI learning using 19 indicators such as population, public facilities, commercial districts, and more.

An official from Buk-gu said, "With the spatial analysis, we can intuitively grasp the distribution of vacant houses and the current state of declining urban areas," adding, "We will be able to identify objective indicators that can efficiently repair vacant houses."
