According to Yonhap News,

On January 9, Ulsan-si announced that its mayor will lead a trade delegation on his first business trip to the U.S. since taking office.

This delegation was initiated to improve Ulsan's position as the international city by strengthening cooperation with sister cities and push for global strategic projects in the future mobility, bio science, and energy sectors.

The trade delegation will visit three cities including Las Vegas, Houston, and San Diego on January 10-19.

Its main schedule includes a visit to Las Vegas on January 10 to hold business meetings and sign agreements to develop the UAM industry at CES 2024, world's largest home appliance and IT exhibition.

The UAM industry is attracting the most attention among the future mobility industry, and aircraft certification and commercialization are making a great progress, led by the US.

Accordingly, the city sent the delegation to observe exhibitions of UAM companies at the exhibition taking place in the U.S. and proceed with related business agreements as soon as possible.

On January 12, the delegation will visit the Ulsan Pavilion in the Korean Pavilion operated by KOTRA, meeting and encouraging CEOs of six Ulsan-based companies including Jungrok, and Sunny Wave Tech.

The delegation will visit the petrochemical and energy industrial sites in Houston, holding meetings with relevant companies to explore investment potential on January 14.

It will discuss affairs related to clean energy including clean ammonia projects with the representatives of Energy Transfer and Enterprise Products, one of the largest energy suppliers in the US.

The delegation will visit the City Hall of Houston, Ulsan's sister city on January 16.

The two sister cities are expected to discuss ways to promote exchange and cooperation in culture, education, tourism, and economy.

Its final stop will be San Diego University on January 17, where the delegation will sign an MOU on cooperation between Ulsan City-UNIST-San Diego-San Diego University to foster the bio science industry.

The city plans to meet with global leading companies in the fields of future mobility, bio science and energy to devise cooperative measures and expand the base of cooperation with related organizations.

By doing so, Ulsan aims to foster the future new industries strategically, advance main industries, and enhance its status as a global city through cooperation with Houston.
