According to Yonhap News,

Ulsan's exports in March increased mainly driven by ships.

According to Ulsan Customs' trade report released on April 17, the export amount for March was USD 7.8 billion, a 4.6% increase compared to the same month last year. Imports amounted to USD 5.5 billion, rising by 6.9%.

The trade balance recorded a surplus of USD 2.34 billion, marking 126 consecutive months of surplus since October 2014.

In terms of export performance by item, automobile exports declined by 9.9% to USD 2.1 billion, mainly due to a drop in exports to major markets such as the United States and Canada.

Exports of petroleum products fell by 21.5% to USD 1.96 billion, while chemical products decreased by 11.5% to USD 1.18 billion, both due to reduced quantities and lower unit prices.

Shipments of ships, particularly high-value LNG vessels, surged by 214.7% to USD 1.45 billion.

For imports, crude oil increased by 6.2% to USD 3.2 billion thanks to higher volumes, despite lower prices.

Imports of raw ore soared by 136.5% to USD 710 million, while petroleum product imports decreased by 8.0% to USD 540 million.
