According to Yonhap News,

On October 16th, Ulsan-si held a sister city agreement ceremony with the Fergana Region of Uzbekistan at the Ulsan City Hall conference room.

The event was attended by Ulsan Mayor Kim Du-kyum, Fergana Governor Khayrullo Bozorov, and about 20 officials from both cities.

The agreement was based on the "Memorandum of Understanding on Friendly Exchange and Cooperation" signed during Ulsan's overseas delegation visit to Fergana in March, aimed at collaborating on shipbuilding workforce training.

Under the agreement, the two cities have agreed to expand exchanges and cooperation in various fields, including economy, trade, science and technology, culture, education, and human resources.

They will also support business investments and private exchanges, and strengthen communication and cooperation on mutual interests.

The cooperation between the two cities is already showing concrete results. Shipbuilding technicians trained at the Ulsan Global Workforce Training Center in Fergana are securing employment in the Ulsan shipbuilding industry through the "Ulsan-type Employment Permit System" pilot program, helping address the workforce shortage in the shipbuilding sector.

Mayor Kim expressed, "I hope that active exchanges will continue in various fields, and that the two cities will develop into a close cooperative relationship."
