According to Yonhap News,

Ulsan City said on February 10th that it plans to establish ‘Ulsan Industry Vision 2020’ to deal with internal and external economic changes.

According to Ulsan, the City plans to devise visions for three sectors: advancing and sophisticating key industries, identifying new growth engines, and securing growth engines for the regional economy.

The visions will serve as the ground for strengthening the international competitiveness of the automobile, shipbuilding, and petrochemical industries, nurturing the environmental, energy, and atomic energy industries, and developing human resources.

Ulsan plans to form five task forces in charge of vision establishment in March, and complete setting up visions in November after consulting with experts in August and September.

An official of the City said “we need future industry visions to handle internal and external economic changes such as the rapid rise of China, the spread of free trade agreements, and green growth,” and added “the visions will be established in cooperation with city-funded agencies, regional universities and company experts.”
