Ulsan’s Project to Build Eco-Industrial Complex Has Economic Effect of KRW 82.6 bln

According to Yonhap News,

 

Ulsan City said on March 24th that its project to build an eco-industrial complex has the annual economic effect of KRW 82,660 million.

 

According to Ulsan, the City has carried out the project which includes the reuse of waste resources and by-products through the network of companies and the reduction of environmental pollutants. The project started in November 2005 and is scheduled to be completed by December 2014.

 

The City selected 42 research tasks by last year, among which 13 have commercialized the results.

 

It is estimated that the subsequent economic effect is KRW 82,660 million (cost reduction of KRW 11,420 million, new sales of KRW 71,240 million) annually, and the social effect includes the new investment of KRW 119,180 million and 142 new jobs.

 

Also, waste by-products have been reduced by 77,993 tons every year, and sulfurous acid gas has been decreased by 4,341 tons annually.

 

Successfully commercialized research results are sales of waste heat generated from incinerators, reuse of by-products, network building to collect and reuse highly concentrated ammonia in industrial waste water, transform of aluminum by-products made by casting companies in Ulsan National Industrial Complex, etc.
