Ulsan Techno Park has filed 26 cases of patent application for fine chemical materials for automobiles

According to Yonhap News,

Sin Dong-sik, director of Ulsan Techno Park, said on Jan. 13 that it has filed for and registered 26 cases of patent application through the first stage of Development Project for Cutting Edge and Eco-friendly Fine Chemical Materials for Automobiles.

The Techno Park has invested a total of 14.3 billion KRW in the first and second stages of the development project from Dec. 2008 to Sep. 2013 in partnership with 17 companies including Kumho Petrochemical, Shinil Chemical Industry and Kolon Plastics.

It has filed for and registered 22 cases of domestic patent application, filed for 4 cases of overseas patent application and published 70 theses at Korean and foreign papers through the first round of the project.

In addition, it recorded 30 billion KRW in sales revenue by making commercially available several trial products, such as elastic materials for energy-efficient tires and materials for mission housing products.

Researcher Kim Yeon-a at the Techno Park said, "We focus on development of high value added fine chemical materials to enhance national competitiveness of the automotive industry and narrow the technological gap between Korea and advanced nations."
