The global battery cluster is designed to nurture the battery industry into the next-generation industry, utilizing Ulsan's battery production base and R&D infrastructures, in response to the growing demands for battery.

Ulsan also decided to embark on projects in 10 sectors - economy, ecosystem, culture & tourism, social welfare, transportation, urban environment, education, IT, administration & finance and globalization.

The project includes the establishment of support center for the shipbuilding & marine industry, smart sewage treatment system, city art gallery, cancer center, transfer center at Ulsan Station, industrial technology museum and smart transportation information system.

"We set up the plan to make Ulsan a creative city in order to keep up with the global trend of transforming from IT-oriented society to creative society," said Lee Gi-won, director of planning and management team of Ulsan City.
