According to Yonhap News,

Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry has provided export consulting services worth a total of 55 billion won for 28 Ulsan-based companies since 2010, which led to 21 billion won of export contracts.

It set up an overseas support team in 2010 in a bid to support small-and-medium enterprises (SMEs) that have technological prowess and quality products but have trouble advancing into the overseas market due to lack of experts and information on the overseas market.

Since then, Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry has dispatched a delegation consisting of regional SMEs to annual export seminars held in Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand.

KEUMJUNG, IND., a manufacturer of special additives, has signed $200,000-export contracts since its participation in an export seminar held in Malaysia in 2011.

Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry is working hard to provide customized consulting services by collecting accurate information on the local companies and governments. It is also trying to select regional companies whose sectors are relevant to the major industry of a foreign country.

It plans to expand sales routes of SMEs to the Central and South America including Chile, Peru and Columbia and even to the EU and US.

"We will support more and more regional SMEs to make inroads into the overseas market by setting up customized strategies on an each country basis," said Choi Chan-ho, an official of Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
