Ulju Invests 35.6 billion won in Agricultural and Livestock Industry

According to Yonhap News,

Ulju-gun (County), Ulsan City will invest a total of 35.6 billion won in the agricultural and livestock industry this year to strengthen the competitiveness of farming villages.

The 35.6 billion won will be spent in 72 projects to aggressively respond to the rapidly changing farming environment, triggered by the Korea-US Free Trade Agreement.

13.5 billion won will be injected into supporting eco-friendly agricultural products and expanding and repairing infrastructures.

9.1 billion won will be allocated for building town halls and theme parks to improve the quality of residents' lives.

500 million won will be spent to support pear farmers and those who grow high-potential fruits including figs and blueberries and modernize production facilities.

2 billion won will be invested in cultivating 10 regional specialized agricultural items including leeks, building greenhouses, supporting eco-friendly products and replacing outdated facilities.

Ulju will also set aside 10.5 billion won for livestock farmers suffering from the declining cattle prices and rising feed prices.
