Ulsan and the Ulsan branch of the Korea International Trade Association sent five small- and medium-sized companies to the 11th International Precision Engineering, Machine Tools and Metalworking Exhibition & Conference (MTA Vietnam 2013) in Vietnam early this month to support small- and medium-companies penetrate overseas markets. Consultations that five companies held amounted to USD 7.96 million, according to Ulsan Tuesday.

An Ulsan official noted that Vietnam is sixth largest and 14th largest importer of Korea and Ulsan, respectively. Vietnam has a high growth potential with plentiful resources, young labor force and consumers. Ulsan will support the regional companies entering the Vietnamese market.

The MTA Vietnam 2013 drew 341 companies from 21 countries. More than 80 percent of participants were foreign companies. It also observed 9972 visitors.

Korea, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand held their exhibition halls.
