Russia's Tomsk to Learn from Ulsan’s Economic Policy

(ULSAN = Newsis) A group of representatives from Tomsk, Russia is in Ulsan until March 1 to learn from the cases of the city’s successful industrial complexes.

The group is led by Andrei Antonov, Deputy Governor of the Tomsk region for economy, and it comprises 9 other representatives from five organizations.

The representatives arrived in Ulsan and had a meeting with Mayor of Ulsan Bak Maengwoo, after which it visited the construction site of Joongsan 2nd general industrial complex to share the city’s know-how to stimulate economic growth and develop policies for the general industrial complex construction.

Mayor Bak seeks to expand exchanges with Tomsk State in a bid to keep pace with President Park Geun-hye’s political goal that focuses on cooperation with Russia.

Ulsan and the city of Tomsk became the sister cities in 2003 and has maintained a friendly relationship for governmental and non-governmental exchanges.

The group will visit Taehwagang River Park and Daewangam Park on March 1.
