(SEJONG=NEWSIS) The construction of the north breakwater of the Ulsan New Port has been completed on August 18.

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) has invested KRW 363.4 billion over the last six years since 2008 to build the 2.2km long north breakwater of the Ulsan New Port.

The construction of the north breakwater is to develop the Ulsan New Port as the leading oil hub of Northeast Asia from the center of refining, storing and transporting oil products.

"With the construction of the north breakwater of the Ulsan New Port, we can now carry out safe marine activities at the first zone of the oil hub. This will help to achieve the oil hub project," said a MOF official.
