Designation Purpose
- To lead the global hydrogen economy and create a regional cluster for fostering the future hydrogen industry, centered in Ulsan, which has a strong foundation and rich experience in the hydrogen industry.
- The goal is to activate the national hydrogen economy by designating the Ulsan Free Economic Zone and developing infrastructure to attract domestic and foreign investments, creating jobs, and revitalizing the local economy.
Designation Status
- Vision: Leading future new industries and driving the sustainable growth of the local economy.
- Core Strategic Industries: Future mobility, advanced chemical materials, hydrogen, and low-carbon energy.
- Project Period: 2020 to 2030 (11 years) / Project Budget: 2.3 trillion KRW
- Investment Targets: Domestic investment of KRW 5.3 trillio , foreign investment of USD 200 million, and job creation of approximately 70,000 positions.
- Project Area: 4 districts covering 6.28 km².
