With just 100 days left for the opening of the Cosmetics & Beauty Expo, its
organizers are rolling up their sleeves in preparation to welcome visitors from
around the world, officials said Tuesday.
The Expo, expected to be the
country's biggest beauty festival, will kick off on May 3 and run through May 26
under the motto of "Beautiful Life & Healthy Bio," in Osong, about 120
kilometers south of Seoul, in North Chungcheong Province.
The event,
with over 300 domestic and international companies participating, is expected to
attract over 1 million visitors from around the world, according to the event's
organizing committee.
Local big-name companies including AmorePacific
Corp. and LG Household & Healthcare have reserved their booths in the
exhibition, organizers said.
The festival will offer a wide range of
exhibition content, various programs, and diverse cultural exchanges for the
creation of new cosmetics and trends in beauty on a venue of 293,000 square
meters, they said.

The main beauty pavilion will have five different sections to explore the value and standards of beauty throughout the ages and by region as well as to display the newest trend of bio technology in the cosmetics industry.
Visitors will see the story about the birth of human desire toward beauty, as well as how the value of beauty has developed in different times and regions through various pictures and films.
There will also be industry exhibitions by cosmetics and toiletry manufacturers, healthcare practitioners and beauty salons.
A beauty market will take place to give visitors the opportunity to buy domestic and foreign brand cosmetics at cheaper prices, organizers said.
The organizing committee also said that during the exhibition, international conferences will be held with academic seminars and symposiums on the trend of the global cosmetics market also taking place on the sidelines of the main event, they added.
"The Cosmetics & Beauty Expo will be a springboard to help the region become a hub for the beauty and cosmetics industry," said Ko Se-ung, secretary general of the organizing committee.
