The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) announced on May 12 that it would select 27 new tasks in the first half of this year for Nano and material technology development projects and support KRW 133.4 billion for five years.
Of them, six research centers including the 'EUV PR Research Center' were selected as the National Core Materials Research Center. They will develop core items related to semiconductors and displays, energy efficiency, and next-generation energy.
As for the Future Technology Labs, 20 labs were selected, including the Topological Quantum New Material Lab. One smart materials lab task was also selected, in which an artificial intelligence robot performs synthesis, design, and evaluation of new materials on its own, without the intervention of a researcher.
